Volgende december is het de 70^de overlijdingsdag van Paul Otlet. Hoe beter hem te herdenken dan door zijn plaats op de Internetspionnierstijdlijn te bevestigen! Na de boeklancering van Cataloging the World : Paul Otlet and the Birth of the Information Age (Oxford University Press) in de VS en Europa, zal de New York Times journalist België laten weten over de visionair ontwerpen van Otlet.

De Amerikaanse auteur is geen onbekende in het Mundaneum : al in 2008 schreef hij erover in The New York Times en in 2013 gaf hij een lezing met Pr. Boyd Rayward over vergeten Internetvoordenkers. Het zelfde thema sprak hij over in 2012 toen hij de profetisch ideeën van Otlet voorstelde tijdens het World Science Festival en in aanwezigheid van de “vader van het internet” Vinton Cerf! Toen ontdekte de wereld de(Belgische) vader van het Internetidee. In zijn boek bewijst Wright hoe hedendaagse technologie het honderdjarige concept van Otlet geldig verklaart van een kennisverdelingswereldnetwerk.
