On 5 December 2014, Alex Wright travels from Brooklyn to Mons to share his experience at The New York Times and now at Etsy.com. “User Experience” (or UX) is a branch of interactive design aiming to provide an optimal and agreeable use of digital products. The goal is to develop interfaces that really fit the users’ needs by combining graphic design, emotional impact and practical benefit.

Alex Wright is best known at the Mundaneum as a columnist for The New York Times and the author of Cataloging the World: Paul Otlet and the Birth of the Information Age (June 2014, Oxford University Press USA). He is first and foremost a User Experience specialist. He contributed to the optimization of websites of such prestigious names as The New York Times, Yahoo, Microsoft, IBM, Harvard University, and today the rising online shop Etsy. His work has won several awards and he himself is sitting on the judging panel of the UX Awards 2014 in San Francisco.

After the conference he is to give on 4 December in Brussels about his book on the cofounder of the Mundaneum Paul Otlet, Alex Wright will facilitate an exclusive workshop on User Experience on the 5th December from 10 AM for all the creative in Mons: Humanizing Data: Bridging UX research methods with big data analytics to create better customer experiences
